Reserves Season Review
At the start of the 2015 season we were optimistic due to the recruits throughout the club however we started off slow which could be put down to a lot of the reserves players not committing to a full pre season meaning we were behind the 8 ball and we were 2 wins and 6 losses from the first 8 games and it is always hard to come back from there.
What was pleasing from the guys, is even though finals were out of question we had blokes who really committed to play out the season and to try and help provide that competitive pressure for senior positions which is important from a clubs point of view. We were able to win 4 out of the last 6 games with our best team performance coming in round 13 when we were able to knock off Templestowe by 4 goals who went on to play finals.
What was also pleasing is that 8 players that played round 1 in the reserves went on to play senior footy throughout the year and acquitted themselves quite well with 4 of these players playing senior finals.
Overall a disappointing season for the reserves as we honestly thought we had the talent to achieve more but it does show that discipline and hard work is what truly equates to success and hopefully this is shown on the track for a big pre season heading into the 2016 season.
