The Basin has made three changes to its senior line-up for Saturday’s big clash with East Burwood FC.
Talented ruckman Andrew Battye returns to the side after a lengthy stint on the sidelines with hamstring injury.
Lighting quick hardnosed defender Nick Callanan gets his opportunity to debut this week after a series of best of performances in the reserves.
Young talent Lachie Kruger will be making his debut this week and will get his first chance to play alongside his cousin and continue the Kruger name at the bear cave.
Out of the side go Blake Henderson (Omitted), Nathan Prosser (Thumb), Jayden Brown (Shoulder).
The Basin FC will be looking to bounce back after last weeks disappointing loss to the Eagles.
The Basin have brought in talented pair Jordan Chircop and Jarred Bell for this weeks clash with the dockers at Templestowe Reserve.
Chircop missed last week with a groin injury and Bell had missed the last two weeks with a calf injury.
Making way are Daniel Bell (Omitted) and Mitch Rule (Injury).
Templetstowe have the wood over The Basin, after giving them a touch up in both games last season. As always this will be a fierce encounter.

Promising, young utility Justin Hutchinson-Drake has been selected by The Basin for Saturday Round 4 clash with arch rivals Boronia at Tormore Reserve.
Hutchinson-Drake has had an outstanding run of form in the reserves leading up to his selection and was pivotal in last weeks come from behind win.
The Basin has made two other changes to the team that lost to Scoresby by 19 points at Batterham Resrve last Saturday, with exciting forward Jayden Brown and classy big man Blake Henderson returning from injury.
Out of the Bears’ line-up are midfielder Jordan Chircop with a groin injury, ruckman Andrew Battye with a calf injury and small forward Daniel Papa due to a hamstring injury.
The Basin has named slick moving midfielder Daniel Bell and utility Paul Phillips for Saturday’s big Round 3 match against Scoresby at the Batterham Reserve.
Daniel Bell has been promoted after some great performances in the reserves and Paul Phillips has been brought back in after missing last week with illness.
Making way is Brown and Henderson, both have injuries and are only expected to miss this week.
The Bears have had an ideal start this far and will be looking to secure another win after last season’s drumming at the hands of Scoresby.
We would like to announce Greg Granland as the coach of the Under 19’s in season 2017.
Greg’s coaching career began in the mid 2000’s at The Basin with the under 10’s. He then moved on to become the assistant coach of North Ringwood’s Under 13’s (Premiers), Under 14’s (Runners Up) and Under 15’s. In 2014 he continued his coaching at The Basin as head coach of the Under 15’s (Runner Up Division B). In 2015 Under 17’s (Runner Up Division B).
Greg has also gained valuable experience during his time as an assistant coach of the EFL inter league Under 14’s and Under 15’s teams. In 2016 He took on the role of assistant coach of the Under 19’s EFL inter league team where they played the Geelong Under 19’s at Symonds Stadium.
Greg will move up from the Under 17’s, where he was at the helm of an undefeated premiership season in 2016. Greg’s biggest strength is developing players individually both on and off the field. Greg will be assisted by Steve Arnol and Sean Ewart who both have a unique set of skills to add to the coaching team. As a coaching team they will be looking to set a new standard for the Under 19’s in 2017.
The club is delighted to announce that Pat Garrity will continue to be at the helm of the Reserves in 2017. Pat has played over 200 games of senior football with both The Basin and Boronia FC. Throughout his playing career he has been senior captain five times (2010 with The Basin, 2007-08 and 2013-14 with Boronia FC). Pat also won The Basin’s Senior Best and Fairest Award in 2009.
His commitment to the club is unrivaled as he continued to play on through the 2016 season whilst taking on coaching duties for the first time. Pat is an exceptional leader and has already made huge strides forward with the Reserves team on the back of a strong and team building 2016.
In 2017 Pat will be looking to develop as many players into senior footballers as possible whilst still chasing the ultimate success.

The Basin FNC is excited to announce Scott Homewood as our senior coach for 2017. Scott brings a wealth of Division 1 and AFL, playing and coaching experience.
After three seasons with the Richmond Football Club, Scott headed to East Burwood FC in Division 1. From East Burwood he headed to Lilydale FC where he became a playing assistant coach for several years. Scott then moved into a non playing senior assistant role at Scoresby FC following a knee injury.
In 2009 Scott was appointed Senior Coach of Mitcham FC in Division 3 where took their young list to consecutive finals appearances before moving on after the 2014 season.
Scott’s has a strong desire to improve our young and exciting list and his vision and values align with the core values of The Basin FNC.
Scott is genuinely excited about his appointment and expects the bears to have a big impact in 2017.
